A 5 page paper. There was a shift in businesses and in the operations of businesses in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It transitioned from mostly one-owner businesses where the owner also operated the business to large corporations that were operated by hired managers. The results were that one or just a few companies controlled the market. This shift concerned Americans, which led to a number of Congressional Acts to prohibit monopolies. This essay briefly discusses the Sherman Antitrust Act, the Clayton Antitrust Act, the Robinson-Patman Act, and the Celler-Kefauver Act, and the Granger Laws. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
