thusly become one of the most insightful and revealing approaches to understanding human development (particularly throughout childhood) by focusing on the interaction of all meaningful "systems" in a persons life
rather than any one of them. This paper will explore the ecological theory of personal development through presenting a case study and then analyze the particulars of that study through
the lens of ecological theory. This paragraph helps the student begin to introduce the hypothetical case study around which the paper is based. In order to facilitate understanding of ecological
theory, it can be helpful to consider the theory in the context of a particular case. For instance, imagine an American child of 13 years old, who has just transitioned
out of elementary school into middle school. Unfortunately, the circumstances of this childs life have manifested in a number of problematic psycho-social and economic challenges. For years, the norm has
been that the father worked full-time as an auto mechanic, while the mother worked part-time. Recently, however, the fathers health has diminished significantly, to the extent that he can no
longer work his auto mechanics job. The father has applied for disability benefits, but approval for such benefits has not yet been obtained, and may not come for several more
years. As a result, the family has had to support itself on minimal finances, including one particularly problematic period of six months during which they lived out of their car,
