environment as people are used to in their daily lives. They leave polluted cities to see how it is not to harm the environment everyday. Also, they can take that
knowledge home with them after the vacation is over and live in a more desirable manner. While an eco-vacation sounds like fun, and is a good idea, investors may
need to be convinced. For example, if hotel investors are thinking about building an eco-hotel in Lake Tahoe, what would convince them to go ahead with the plan? It is
also important to ask, what is it that has been drawing a growing customer and investment base to this industry? Highlighting the reasons for others success as well as the
fundamental parts of eco-tourism can help to convince investors of its worth. Likely, investors will want to look at other resorts to get some good ideas and see just
how lucrative this business might be. One example of a successful business is one that was opened by Lars-Eric Lindblad. He created vacation packages with exotic destinations such as
Antarctica and the Galapagos Islands as well as the Amazon going back to 1958 ("A real," 2002). His now grown son had added a "green tinge" to the business
and ships now allow visitors to hear songs of the whales via hydrophones or watch live video under the sea (2002). Further away from the ship,
