of which one could argue hamburgers are the most widely consumed item on a fast food menu. As one author notes, "Today we associate hamburgers with an unhealthy lifestyle. Drenched in fattening dressings and topped with few frightened bits of lettuce, the greasy, grilled meat, wedged in a bun...is the ultimate junk food" (Magazine Magnus). It could be argued that hamburgers, on their own, are not necessarily unhealthy but that it is all the condiments that are added that make hamburgers unhealthy for the individual. But, there are also issues concerning red meat in general that indicate that consuming a great deal of red meat is harmful to ones health. Of course, there are many who would argue that too much of anything is bad for you and that the society has gotten to the point where they argue almost everything is unhealthy for the consumer so how could hamburgers be any worse than any other food? The following paper examines what eating hamburgers could do to ones health in the long run if they were to eat hamburgers every day.
