Another even more compelling reason for delving out into the darkness of space is to find out what other forms of life might also live within the galaxies; certainly,
people are not so egocentric to think that humans are the only life forms to exist. With the help of such masterminds as Ptolemy, Copernicus, Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler,
Galileo, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and Stephen Hawking, the global community has gained a significantly better acquaintance with outer space and Earths place among the planets. With the "contrasting temporal
behavior of various energy densities [having] given rise to the environments needed for the emergence of galaxies, stars, planets, and life forms" (Chaisson, 1997, p. 447), it is easy to
understand how the contributions of these scientific pioneers were so complementary amidst the overwhelming vastness of such a concept. Ptolemy legacy stands as the most significant astronomical impression made
in the Greek period. Building upon the "wealth of knowledge" (Anonymous, 2001) left by his predecessors, he created a reproduction of the universe that was both comprehensive and unprecedented.
