MNCs efforts in another country would likely not mean much of anything. It seems as though when it comes to culture and religious principles, these are more recognized and acknowledged
than ethics, so well focus on religion first. In many countries, religion is more than something thats practiced, its a way of life. This is certainly true in many
of the Middle Eastern countries with high Muslim populations. Islam is a way of life in these countries, and it involves not only specific worship, but everyday dealings with family,
friends and business associates. The Koran, in fact, the holy book of Islam, has specifics for dealing with family and business associates. There are also certain times during the day
when business is closed for prayer - and certain times during the year when cities and business centers are closed down for holidays. In such areas, the multinational corporation and
its executives must recognize and accept that religion is an important part of the total fabric of a quality of life in such a country. What about ethical behavior, though?
