next meeting, this person has to educate other homeowners about energy conservation. Good evening and thanks so much for your time. Im
sure all of you have read the reports lately about climate change, global warming and our over-dependence on foreign oil. Well, I cant speak to the idea of global warming,
but I do know that energy costs are going up. The energy companies arent going to do anything to bring them down in the near future, so its up to
us - me and you - to conserve on our own so we arent paying a great deal for it. But there
are other reasons why energy conservation is so important. Because of the way energy is harvested - through oil - ecosystems are being damaged, as is habitat. We may not
care that the Amazon Forest is being razed for another oil well, but when we consider that a lot of medicines come from that forest, it makes you think.
Another reason for energy conservation are those awful "ozone days," you know, where the air is so hot and still, and taking
a breath hurts. Those with asthma really suffer during those days. If we can keep our cars off the streets during the hottest part of the day, or wait to
mow our lawns until evening, when the sun goes down, that can help. Now, Im making it out to seem like
