and when. But there are times when certain disorders can interfere with normal speech, and cause problems and delays among the child.
One such disorder is called elective mutism. This can be a frustrating disorder, because one is not sure if the child is not speaking simply because he or she doesnt
want to speak, or because he or she simply cant at certain times. In this paper, well examine the phenomenon of mutism,
determine potential causes and examine some treatments underway for trying to deal with this disorder. Definition The definition of mutism is fairly
