when an enterprise decides if going into a particular country is the right move or not. This is especially true when it comes to the marketing aspect - after all, if the market doesnt want what the enterprise is offering, the enterprise is likely wasting its money. Given this, it could be suggested that when it comes to appraising the international marketing environment, the economic environment, or background, of a country is the most important consideration for an enterprise. A stable economic background is absolutely essential for an MNEs consideration before it will consider entry into a particular country. Or is it? If this is the case, why do companies enter countries in which income per capita is low? Why do they make inroads into countries that have a GDP less than the state of Texas? People such as Miskin (2009) are convinced that globalization helps stimulate financial development and economics of underdeveloped countries, while providing the more advanced countries a new market in which to promote their goods and services. But not all countries are quite so altruistic. It makes sense, to a point, that economic stability of a country is one of the appealing factors for a multinational corporation. But its not THE most important factor. If the country has consistent policies, a solid infrastructure and favorable laws and regulations, foreign direct investors and multinational companies are more than happy to give that country a chance (Zanetta and Queiroz, 2007).
