e-learning has become a staple, a key component in the training programs many companies offer (Murphy, 2001). Colleges and universities have also entered into the e-learning realm. The number of
students enrolling in Online courses grew from 1.98 million in 2003 to 2.35 million in 2004, an 18.2 percent increase (Allen and Seaman, 2005). That is a higher growth rate
than on-campus enrollments (Allen and Seaman, 2005). The following data illustrate increases in Online enrollment in institutions of higher education just over the last few years. Online Enrollment: * 2003
= 1.98 million(Romano, 2006). * 2005 = 2.35 million (Romano, 2006). * 2008 = 4+ million (estimated) (Romano, 2006). Percent of Associate Degree (AA) Institutions staying Online education is a
critical strategy: * 2003 = 58 percent (Romano, 2006). This was an increase from 56 percent in the previous school year (Patrick, 2005). * 2005 = 72 percent (Romano,
2006). Schools that have identified Online enrollment as a critical strategy: * 2003 = 49 percent (Romano, 2006). * 2005 = 56 percent (Romano, 2006). Romano (2006) also reported
