When looking at the destination it is necessary to assess the practical aspects of the area, including accessibility, facilities and the available resources and how they may satisfy the tourism and events needs. Dubai can be reached by air of sea, for most international visitors Dubai International airport is likely to provide the most suitable point of entry. The airport is well developed, with two terminals, and direct flights to most major international airports around the world with in excess of 6,000 flights a week, to more than 220 destinations and in 2011 handled 47.2 million passengers (Dubai Airports, 2011).
