In my case where both mental illness and drug addiction is present, I have learned treatment often incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy. The concept of behavioral theories takes into consideration
the history of cross-cultural psychology, in that it assesses culture as an "indispensable component in the understanding of human behavior" (Segall et al, 1998, p. 1101). Cognition refers to
the process of knowing, which applies to a combination of judgment and awareness; as such, this psychological approach serves to alter my thought processes in order to redirect the ultimate
