A 10 page research paper that discusses the connection between crime and drug use, which the writer points out has been well documented in many empirical studies. Offenders who are involved with drugs have higher rates of criminal activity and it has been shown that there is a direct correlation between the level of drug use and an increase in the severity of criminal behavior. Conversely, when drug use decreases, so does crime, especially crimes that are income generating.
