When it comes to legislation regarding drugs, there are many facts but there is also fiction. Sometimes, it
is difficult to tell the difference largely due to state variances but also due to the campaign that has been waged against drug use and abuse. Today, it is easy
to get a prescription for pharmaceuticals like Prozac and Ambien for various disorders. Yet, many of these drugs find themselves on the black market. There is marijuana that is purportedly
legal in some states, at least for medical use, whereas it is illegal in other states. Although President Obama said he would consider the problem of high penalties for marijuana
use, he recently rejected the idea that legalizing and taxing pot would is a good one. When looking at the issue, and the strong feelings about drug use, it
is easy to see why facts are sometimes misconstrued, and also why myths or fictions arise. In examining issues concerning drug use in America, and the finicky laws that change
over time, it is hard to know fact from fiction. For example, was cocaine ever legal? Was it really used in Coca Cola? Some believe it is just a myth
that Coke had real cocaine in it, but it is surprisingly true. There had been much controversy over the fact that Coca Cola contained cocaine as some believed that it
