designers have used different methods of drawing and representation in the design process that creates interior architecture. Interior architecture, interior decoration or interior designs are terms that are used
to describe the design of interior space (Spankie 12). However, there is a distinction between individuals who refer to themselves as "interior decorators" and those who qualify as "interior designers,"
as interior designers have received professional training in space planning and are also subject to government regulation, as their designs must comply with federal, state and local laws and building
codes (Lester 54). In every case, however, professionals who provide designs for interior space address how a space of utilized and understood, but to its effect and form (Spankie
