of mans inability to understand the downside to such tremendous technological dependency; as a direct result, he blew up his entire planet and all the inhabitants that called it home.
Now, simplicity is the affirmation of Dr. Kafkas colony, a community of people whose social objective is to achieve a given objective by the most natural means possible.
This choice to eschew the conveniences of technological advancement speaks to the obvious importance of filling basic needs with the standards of natural application. That the colony has now
survived ten generations clearly indicates how the original tenets of such technological abandonment proved the right path to take; the extent to which they live and work as members of
an unadorned population thriving amidst the memory of a desecrated Earth endorses the benefits of a simple, nonindustrial existence. One of the primary elements of Earths conventional society conspicuously absent
from the colonys hi-tech lifestyle is that of competition. Because they work together as a community, rather than opposing one another in the quest for material gain, the colony
members can focus on the more important of lifes priorities, such as family, friends and positive productivity. Adopting the tenets of seventeenth century Amish, the colony has remained as
stalwart and holistic today as they were ten generations ago: lead a simple life, respect your fellow man, work hard for the benefit of working hard and abstain from the
