inner angers and demons, and a story about enlightenment. The following paper provides a brief book report/summary of Stevensons classic and timeless novel. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde The
story begins with two men who begin discussing the man that was Dr. Jekyll as well as the man that was Mr. Hyde. Through their discussions we begin to see
the story unfold and we begin to see that Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde were actually the same person, with the doctor being a kind and respectable man and Mr.
Hyde being an incredibly evil and villainous man. We learn that Dr. Jekyll has experimented with a potion that rips a human of all decency, leaving only the most
basic and animalistic nature in its place. In many ways this presents us with a look at the man, as well as society. In the doctors society it is expected
that a man be honorable and good and never do anything wrong. There is a great deal of oppression in such an existence where one must only adhere to societys
rules. Dr. Jekyll was the perfect example of such a man, a man who did the right things, acted in the correct manner, and never stepped out of line. From
a thematic perspective we see that this was stifling the natural condition of a human being. So, with the doctors experimentation he came upon a potion that allowed him to
be an individual who did not live by any rules. Through having no rules, however, the most evil essence of a humans nature came out in the character of Mr.
