1029 Children with Down Syndrome present a number of considerations in terms
of their education. In the past children with such complications were often restricted to special education classes. More and more research is demonstrating, however, that the incorporation of these
students into the regular classroom has many advantages. These advantages are reaped not just by the Down Syndrome student but by their fellow classmates and, ultimately, by society as
a whole. Considerations in Education Down syndrome results
from a chromosomal anomaly. Instead of a child having the normal twenty chromosomes there is a twenty-first chromosome that manifests either in whole or in part. The condition
is found more frequently in children that are born to older mothers. The condition results in both physical and cognitive abnormalities that can make it difficult to perform the
necessary functions of life. Non-the-less, these children deserve the same quality of education that regular mainstream students receive. Furthermore, although there are few empirical studies to prove it,
