of answers. You can imagine that if we are searching for the roots of domestic violence in any given area, it is unlikely that it is going to be
found on the "welcome-to- my-county sign, and by the way, we have a lot of domestic violence here." This is hardly the kind of information any chamber of commerce
unit wants to advertise. Data County: According to its internet website, Prince Georges County, Maryland encompasses the 487 square miles, with Washington D.C. on the East and Baltimore on
the South, and is labeled the "Baltimore/Washington Common Market." We are told that the county is "just minutes from the political, social and cultural life of Washington, D.C.
and from the many pleasures of Annapolis, the Eastern Shore and the neighboring mountain areas." The area has benefited economically from federal contracts
through its proximity to the capital, and from Andrews Air Force Base. Andrews is the home base of the 89th Military Airlift wing, which supports Air Force One, as
well as the headquarters for the Air Force Systems Command. Support Systems: According to the 1998 National Institute of Justice Portfolio, two major funding grants were awarded to Prince
Georges County Police Department. The first to examine within the national scope, the "development of a standardized definition of force," and the second to "establish patterns of crime, and
