The political and ethical sides of action research are also addressed and different exercises are demonstrated on how any individual can conduct research in their own organizations. The importance of being able to conduct ones own research cannot be stressed enough. This adage applies to businesses and corporations as well. For example, research enables businesses to watch what their competitors are doing so they can monitor current trends and target specific markets to try and increase revenue and reduce expenses.
