How mans best friend ever came to be entangled with representing the bad side of humanity continues to be a mystery, but when a man has been particularly misbehaved, he is immediately branded a dog. Maybe there is more to it than meets the eye; given the fact that there are a great many similarities between the two may lead one to believe that the comparison is not so far-fetched after all. Consider the fact that, like men, dogs enjoy spending time with their male buddies. This pack mentality is as prevalent in the canine world as it is in the human world, with the basic difference being that men may choose to partake of beer and football while dogs opt for tipping trashcans and smelling fire hydrants. But the common denominator of such group activity is for the clear purpose of bonding. Still another pertinent aspect to the pack mentality is the constant prowl for female attention. Whether dog or man, the quest for female companionship is an ever-present quest, no matter what other activity may be occurring at any given time. If a female enters the territory of a pack of males, she automatically receives all attention and is often the unwitting recipient of dog-like howls, eye-bulging stares and unsolicited approaches. Curiously, while this may sound like the behavior of a canine, it actually describes the outward actions of men when they revert to an animal mentality. Dogs, on the other hand, are considerably more discreet in their desire for female companionship.
