worth it, however, we can also argue that this is not the case. There are many examples of this type of argument
being used, the use of animal testing may be seen as facilitating a noble cause. Without the use of animals medical research has helped develop and test almost all prescription
drugs that are used today such as antibiotics, vaccines and erythropoietin (Luedke, 2000). The cause of enhancing the health, and in many cases, saving the lives of fellow humans is
perhaps one of the most noble goals, it is not selfish, being undertaken for the need of others, with the b benefits being felt not only by patients, but by
their friends and families. The cost is the suffering and lives of animals. The value of the result is deemed to be
sufficient for the methodology to continue. Whilst some testing may be replaced with alterative methods, such as computer models and the use of test tube experiments, many drugs would not
be capable of being tested in this way. This is an highly debated argument, and for this we can look at the proposition that the ends justify the means as
the ends and the means are both open to subjective analysis. If we are going argue that the ends justify the means we
