form of advertising today. But, one wonders, does sex in advertising really work or is it just a popular device? The following paper examines four different scholarly articles/reviews and examines
if sex in advertising does work. Sex in Advertising In one article the author reviews a book titled "ex and Advertising:
Perspectives on the Erotic Appeal." The book is a compilation of many essays on the topic and is offered up by Tom Reichert and Jacqueline Lambiase. The critic notes that,
"Sex sells is one of the most trite maxims in the advertising world" and that "the academics whose essays appear in Tom Reichert and Jacqueline Lambiases anthology...delve into the seductive
world of advertising and present fresh and interesting takes on the hackneyed mantra" (Video Age International 12). One of the articles or essays "The Effects of Sexual Appeals on Physiological,
Cognitive, Emotional and Attitudinal Responses for Product and Alcohol Billboard Advertising." In this essay there are documented studies which indicate that many people are likely to respond positively, from the
