labour market logic that is seen in the model. However, it is not the only model, and it may be argued by critics of the approach that it is deepening
labour market segmentation and social inequality, and in particular leading to a collision course between environmental crisis and a growing population surplus. The problem with capitalism as far as other
philosophies are concerned is its triangular set up. The majority of control over money and goods can be seen as in the hands of a minority of the population. This
has been argued as unfair and unjust, whilst capitalists have argued that it is the most productive way to work and ensures that no man as a part of society
is the slave of another, but with a high level of power in the hands of a few there is the potential for the wage gap to increase, and the
desires of those with power to overcome other concerns, such as environmental concerns, specially with the need to work within the capitalist system to support the global growing population.
To consider this the motivation and ideas behind capitalism need to be assessed and then the reality observed. When examining capitalist nations,
such as the United States and the United Kingdom, this may be seen as capitalist models (Prowse, 1996). It has been argued that it is the United States which has
