The time from birth to death is meant to impart a growing knowledge of and appreciation for the plant and animal kingdoms with which humans share their lives, ultimately evolving to greater levels of awareness while traversing the lifes pathways. The extent to which these two perspectives reflect entirely divergent reasons for humans to exist is both grand and far-reaching; that they both embody the sentiment from two very different factions of humanity clearly illustrates how a large contingent of the human species truly has no understanding of how mans ego stands in the way of his real purpose in the grander scheme of existence (Jones, 2009). Mans scientific inventions serve as his most prolific contributions and thereby represent the sum of humanitys purpose in the universe. From early Greek civilization to Galileo to the turn of the twentieth century, mans fixation with the heavens above have made astronomy the single most critical application with regard to his place in the universe.
