grow up with the idea that without a college degree they are nothing. However, in the realm of business, many people make it big without the degree. In fact, some
of the smartest people have avoided college and used their intellect to become millionaires, two of whom are Rush Limbaugh and Bill Gates. Yet, everyone is told to go to
college as a prerequisite for life. And while many do use their degrees to get in the doors of some of the largest companies in the world, the truth is
that the sheepskin does not really mean the degree holder is any smarter than his non-degreed counterpart. Part of the reason for the notion that degrees are just pieces of
paper, and do not signify whether or not a person is really educated, is that there are many ways of becoming educated. A person from the Midwest who goes to
college and comes to Manhattan for example, would not last a day in a dangerous neighborhood. Why? This person might have learned a great deal from books, but that is
no guarantee that he or she has any common sense, and it is certain that he or she does not have what is called street smarts. A student writing
