to the article, and also, Wollstonecraft would use information from Rousseau. These feminists were a bit different than some of the others. For example, they were different from Simone de
Beauvoir. Simone de Beauvoir (1952) in delving through history and examining the French Revolution, contends that the women of the working class were better off as they could run
businesses. Her thesis was as follows: "...the basic options of an individual must be made on the premises of an equal vocation for man and woman founded on a common
structure of their being, independent of their sexuality" ("De Beauvoir , Simone," 2005). For Beauvoir, feminism was a part and parcel of natural rights, but it was something more. Unlike
the others named, De Beauvoir was a socialist as well. It is often the case that socialism or Marxism is aligned with feminism. At least, that is construed as
one branch of feminism but by no means are all feminists socialists. Yet, De Beauvoirs philosophy does differ from that of the other feminists named. This is different from those
embracing the ideas of the enlightenment for example. When De Beauvoir references the French Revolution, she does so to promote the idea of socialism, while others might see it
as something spawned by Enlightenment thinking. During the Revolution, the people wanted an enlightened monarchy and they were enamored of socialist ideals. Yet, the thinking at the time would render
