insignificant occurrences as inconsequential to the entire developmental process of an individuals life is to disregard the subtle nuances that comprise the holistic properties of human existence. Looking at
the life from the different perspectives of Piaget and Vygotsky provides a better understanding as to why and how various occurrences help to mold an individuals capacity for development.
[Piaget] was mainly interested in the biological influences on "how we come to know." He believed that what distinguishes human beings from other animals is our ability to do
"abstract symbolic reasoning (Huitt et al, 2003). Piaget believed life is not a preset schedule of events that take place at a
certain time in everyones life but instead is a compilation of developmental stages whereby the uniqueness of an individual and his or her environment, experiences and relationships dictate the overall
growth process. Indeed, certain criteria are interconnected with every human being with regard to the average time it takes for toddlers to walk, children to read and youth to
carve out a niche inside a particular group of peers, however, even these aspects are guided to some degree by the cognitive awareness inherent to how the individual interacts with
his or her world. Piagets Cognitive Development Theory realized this inextricable connection as it relates to the human developmental process, pointing out how people must transition out of one
