The information comes from interviews, articles, and a book regarding either the individuals experiences or the experiences of the movement as a whole. While the information cited is factually correct, the details not cited are part of an embellishment in order to try to discern what James Peck might have thought, or written. If in fact, Peck would be asked about how he felt, there would likely be differences because the additional information is the fictitious part of the assignment. May 12, 1961 Atlanta I just began to get ready to go on the freedom ride. It is somewhat dangerous but it is exciting as well. We are going to test out democracy and to see if the Supreme Court decision will hold ("Freedom"). We are not engaging in civil disobedience by going on the ride ("Freedom"). That is because what we are doing is legal, at least the bus ride is. But the ride is just part of it. I and one of the other guys are planning to protest a bit more when we get to Birmingham. The freedom ride is certainly a part of it, but not the whole thing. Birmingham is important right now and that is where we are going. The bus is the vehicle but that is again just a small portion of this civil rights test. I am really inspired.
