Those who have caught their disease in time can still count on dying an average of fifteen years earlier than what is otherwise expected. Infants who are born from mothers with diabetes are two to three times more likely to die than their disease-free counterparts. Ninety-eight billion dollars is spent every year in the United States in order to treat diabetes. very real potential of causing limb amputation. Genetically determined, diabetes has no known cure; however, it can be controlled through diet, medication and exercise. The two primary types
of diabetes include Type 1 and Type 2, which are associated juvenile and adult diabetes, respectively. Indeed, no one is immune to the ravages of this dreaded disease, with
