Good leadership is seen as an essential element needed in a commercial organization. Leaders that are ineffective are ousted, either by the shareholders at the AGMs as seen with Michael Eisner at the Disney Corp or by other factors leading to their need to resign or be sacked, as seen with Sir Fred Goodwin, voted the "Worlds Worst Banker" in a FT Alphaville readers poll, followed in second place by Richard (Dick) Fuld, Chairman & CEO of Lehman Brothers (Anonymous, 2008). Ironically, each of these leaders was seen as highly effective in their leadership skills before a change of circumstances highlighted their weaknesses. Eisner helped turn the Disney Corporation around from a struggling financial entity into a highly successful corporation, and both Fred Goodwin and Dick Fuld were favored highly by the shareholders as a result of the way that they help their businesses grow at a rapid rate as a result of their vision for the organization. This demonstrates one of the areas concerning leadership theory in the model law, where there is a high level of focus on the particular style and the ability of a need to have vision, while may be relevant characteristics, it is certain that leadership requires more than this, as Peter Drucker states, the leaders need to have followers, to inspire and to achieve results (Hesselbein, 1997). There is a hypothesizing which is supported by a wealth of evidence that indicates the leadership approach and style will impact on the way in which an organization performs in a strategy that is adopted (Kulmala et al, 2009).
