The changes are not always visible and problems can arise where there are unseen forces. This proposal is to investigate the reasons why a high street travel agency business is
seeing sales fall. The travel agent is the only travel agent in the town, so there is no nearby physical competition and despite the continued growth the last year saw
a fall in the level of booking of 38%. To manage the situation the business need to identify the influences on a business and adapt to maximise opportunities and
minimise risks and threats. In this case the reason behind the fall in the bookings is not known and this proposal addresses the way in which the research should
be conducted. 2. The Methodology The business sis in a single area and the pattern of sales contradicts the patterns seen in previous years. This means the reach undertaken
will need to focus on the specific influences on that singular business. However, the business does not take place in isolation form industry trends and industry trends may help indicate
areas that should be explored. The research should be divided into two types secondary and primary. The secondary research uses existing sources of information followed by the creation of new
data directly concerning the shop. 2.1 Secondary Research The research should start by looking at the general background to the travel
industry and travel patterns. Good secondary research will help a researcher identify potential areas that would be benefit from primary research. Sources used can include industry reports on general tends
