Kuwait Introduction As you requested, the purpose of this memo is review our findings of research into Kuwait as an expansion site
for the company. The recommendation is that C&C Industries expand to Kuwait, as it provides a positive setting for the companys business. Kuwait currently imports drinking water along
with virtually all other food and drink items for human consumption. Certainly oil receives greater attention than does water. The availability of potable water in the Middle East
has been an issue for years, but dwindling supplies of fresh water throughout the world will be of greater interest in the future. Currently Saudi Arabia operates the worlds
largest single desalination plant, but Kuwait is ideally situated to conduct desalination. The country already imports water and the government seeks to build an export-driven economy. Though Kuwait
already conducts desalination on a limited bases, another source of potable water in Kuwait will eliminate or greatly reduce the need to import water, and it will provide an export
product in which all of Kuwaits immediate neighbors have interest. Analysis of Findings Conditions in Kuwait Economic Climate Slightly smaller in total land
area than the state of New Jersey, Kuwait is located on the Western coast of the Persian Gulf. It is bounded by Saudi Arabia to the South, Iraq to
the North. Across a small finger of Iraqi territory lies a portion of Iran, also on the Persian Gulf coast. The economy
of Kuwait is wholly dependent on oil production at present. Petroleum is responsible for "nearly half of GDP, 95% of export revenues, and 80% of government income" (Kuwait).
