services (EDP Weeklys IT Monitor, 2003). This partnership is valuable because the High Performance Technology is set up to handle massive amounts of data reliably. The company has proven
itself by managing the same kinds of IT services for huge corporations as well as other governmental agencies (EDP Weeklys IT Monitor, 2003). There are tens of millions of veterans
who are enrolled in the VA health care system. Many of these veterans move from one state to another, others travel a great deal. Since most are retired, they would
not be able to receive the same quality of health service without a centralized system that could be accessed by any VA health care provider.. Besides managing the day-to-day
operations related to health information, the company is set up to manage specific projects and to provide speedy reports to those in charge. The author reported: "The technology provided by
HPTi will play a central role in tracking and communicating the status of critical projects to the Undersecretary of Veterans Affairs" (EDP Weeklys IT Monitor, 2003). Having reliable information is
obviously a benefit for the VA in terms of providing proper services to veterans and the obvious benefit to High Performance Technology is that it increases their revenue while at
the same time providing a needed service for their country. One of the tragedies in this country is the way our veterans are treated. Reports indicate that following World War
II, business owners gave priority to those returning from the war. Still, those who were permanently injured and those who had lost limbs faced the challenge of finding a job.
