utmost commitment and sacrifice. This is the real meaning of the phrase: one had best love what one does enough to sacrifice for it. Dentistry, my chosen profession, so happens
to be a field that I can truly say I love and am willing to do anything to succeed in, on the grounds that I have already made many sacrifices
to get where I am today within the field. At the moment, I am working an externship as a dental assistant, but my ambition is to be accepted into an
externship as a dental hygienist. I believe my interest in and suitability for such a role is attested to not only by my previous commitment to learning the dental arts,
but also my love of helping people. This paragraph helps the student demonstrate the sacrifices inherent in their personal circumstances. As a woman of 43, I am not the traditional
student. This is because I wished to wait until my youngest daughter, now 18, had finished high school before looking to further my own education. Now that she and my
older daughter, 26, have gone on to attend college, I am free to pursue my passion in dentistry. However, I continue to make sacrifices in the pursuit of my education.
For example, I am the sole provider for my household, caring for my disabled boyfriend and his sixteen year old son, so I am obligated to earn an income as
well as learn. In spite of this, I have managed to finish the educational requirements for becoming a dental assistant and am confident that my passion will continue to carry
