be democratic? Should not the parents have a vote, since they are paying for the education, and should not the president of the university and the board of directors
also have a vote? If the student and/or faculty had a vote in this democratic university, would it be beneficial for the university, or would
only the students and/or faculty members benefit? In example A, the student would not have a vote, but the faculty would. In example B, the faculty would not
have a vote, but the student would. In example C both would have a vote. In example D neither would have a vote. Example A
When the faculty has a vote on the admission policy, it is possible for those faculty members to be swayed by offers of bribery.
It is also possible for the faculty members to promote favoritism, and allow a friend or relative easy admission status to the university. On the other hand it is
more probable that the faculty member would only have the best interest of the university in mind and decide admission policies accordingly. He or she could only allow the
admission of students who were of a certain income level or a certain caliber. Furthermore, since faculty members have a working knowledge of the type of persons that do
