rather than ability, intelligence, hard work or results. Charley is Willys next door neighbor and father of Bernard. Charley is a successful businessman. He and his son, Bernard, who is
the opposite of the Loman boys as he is studious and not gregarious, represent are the antithesis of Willys philosophy, as they lack popularity, looks or athletic skill, yet have
garnered the success that Willys craves. Howard is Willys boss, as he has now taken over the position of his father as head of the company that employs Willy.
Howard represents the coldness of corporate America, which will use up a mans life, suck the good out of it and discard the husk like an old orange. Willys philosophy
is no protection against such a fate as his values are ephemeral and transitory. 2. What type of life or career would make Biff feel successful? Why is he so
