concerns about the environment and climate change. Discussion America did something historic in November, 2008: it elected an African-American President. Even more, it elected a man who is interested in
listening to what Americans have to say; rumors are that the Secret Service wants to take his Blackberry away from him so he cant talk to people and inadvertently give
away his location. Perhaps hell show up on Twitter. At any rate, President Obama is determined to stay connected to the country so that he knows what the people-as opposed
to the lobbyists and special interest groups-want. Since thats the case, its not far-fetched to write to him with concerns about the issues that face us today. And since this
is a letter, the student will probably want to consider writing it in first person, though that is not the typical format for a research paper. If they do so,
it might be something like the following. Dear President Obama: Im very concerned about the degradation of the environment and what appears to be the climate change that accompanies it.
I believe that we are rapidly approaching a "tipping point," when it will finally become apparent to everyone that we are in real trouble, but by which time it will
