Lynch's participation in such productions as Dune, The Amputee and Twin Peaks – the last of which "provides an example of the changing relation between television and society in the 1990s, with its postmodern complexity" (Lavery, 1993, p. 239) - is instrumental in catapulting his influence to the heights they ultimately reached with regard to reflecting the very essence of postmodernism.
