and his photos have stood the test of time, as his artistry continues to be admired by both critics and the public. Bailey favors, as he did 40 years
ago, a minimalist approach. His black-and-white portraits are "very graphic with high contrasts between lighter values and darker tone," but are shot on "a variety of formats" ("David Bailey, Biography").
Bailey has commented, "I take the same approach today as I did when I started. Ive always hated silly pictures and gimmicks, which is all I see these days" ("David
