often popular in their time and are perhaps just as popular today because of their artistic visions and their skills. Three such artists were, or are, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo,
and Titian. The following paper analyzes da Vincis "The Last Supper," Michelangelos "The Creation of Man," and Titians "Assumption of the Virgin." The Last Supper This is often regarded
as one of the most powerful and intricate of religious paintings from history. As one author notes, "Da Vincis Last Supper has become one of the most widely appreciated masterpieces
in the world. It began to acquire its unique reputation immediately after it was finished in 1498 and its prestige has never diminished" (Bianco). As the title suggests it is
a painting about the last supper with Jesus. In this painting we have the long table at which Jesus and all his disciples are sitting or standing to enjoy the
last meal with Jesus before he is crucified. We, as the viewer, are on the other side of the table observing the long painting of the figures. One of
the most striking things about this painting is the use of color. There is perhaps every color imaginable in this particular piece of art. With all of the figures and
all of the food on the table, the room itself, we are offered the entire spectrum of color, yet there is a warmth to the painting because of the richness
of the colors. This perhaps helps to tone down the activity within the painting because there is so much going on. There is not one particular focus, although Jesus being
