help both the U.S. and India markets. Introductory Analysis At first glance, trying to integrate cultures as diverse as Indian and American
could be considered an exercise in lunacy. On the one hand we have the go-it-hard, get-it-done now culture of most U.S. corporations, contrasted with the more laid-back, relationship-oriented Indian culture.
But other companies have done a good job with integrating different cultures, and this company will be no different. The first step
is to have a thorough understanding about Indias business culture. For example, it helps if we have an understanding of the fact that caste and hierarchy play a large role
in this country - hierarchy determines a lot of roles in business as well, and ignoring this could cause some real problems (Doing Business in India). For example, when doing
