very good reason why the concept of love is so confusing. For one thing, there are so many dictionary definitions to describe it. Answers.com alone points out 10 different definitions
and this doesnt include the subsets of the word such as loved, loving, loves and so on. There are as many definitions
for the word as there are versions of it as well. Love, at one time or another, is described (by Answers.com) as "a deep, tender ineffable feeling of affection and
solicitude toward a person," as a feeling of desire and attraction to a person, such as sexual passion; an intense emotional attachment to something non-human, such as a pet or
object; an expression of affection; a strong issue of enthusiasm (Answers.com uses "love of language" as an example); or an object of enthusiasm.
Given all of these different definition, is it any wonder that the concept of love is so confusing? Lets continue with
this paper by describing what love is NOT. For one thing, there is a vast difference between physical desire and love. Physical desire may be mistaken as love, but what
it is, actually, is lust. Its the hormones heating up when someone attractive comes near. Some would call it the instinct to mate. But it isnt love.
