byline. Hes known to most of those in academia as a scholar of Haiti, one who has thoroughly researched the country and its customs, and has written about it in
both books and magazine articles. In this paper, well attempt to focus on J. Michael Dash and his writings. Though attempts were
made to access his background, there isnt much information available about the background, with the exception of a small biography that was released by New York University. We will, however,
do our best through his writings. Brief Biography J. Michael Dash (or Michael J. Dash as hes also sometimes referred to as)
doesnt have much of a history or biography on the Internet or even through New York University, where he is currently based. We will, however, in this section, attempt to
try to figure out the man behind the writings of Haiti and Latin America. These days, Dash, is a Professor of French
at New York University - hes also a specialist of Haitian culture and literature (Salon du Livre Insulaire, 2004). His biography doesnt talk much about how often hed been to
Haiti (or if he ever had been), but it does make it clear that Haiti is a "labor of love" for him. Nor does his biography really make it clear
about his own upbringing. What his biography does do, however, is tell us that hes a professor of French at New york
