There are a number of
aspects of current technology which the student could choose to research, and perhaps a suitable way of introducing your paper would be to mention some of the technological developments which
came about towards the end of the twentieth century and revolutionised many elements of peoples life and work. For example, there was a radical change in methods of communication which
was brought about by the advent of satellite systems and the internet, which brought about many changes on both a local and a global level.
The student could, for instance, look at
the many ways in which the internet has changed the way in which education and business are structured, and the benefits which this has brought. Many businesses are now recruiting
new employees and conducting many of their transactions over the Net, which has meant that communication is faster and makes a much more economical use of resources. It is no
longer necessary for employees in many companies to physically travel to their workplace, since it is possible to work from home and communicate with other employees via email or phone.
