Because of large and expanding Latin American communities in these cities, companies have been able to work past language barriers and cultural issues to better understand the consumer base in Latin America. At the same time, challenges still exist for expanding distribution plans into Latin America. Perhaps the most significant trend for businesses in South Florida is an increasing interest and focus on Latin American employees living in the area as a base for supporting product distribution into Latin America. Increasingly, businesses are recognizing the importance of the growing Latin American television market in South Florida, and expansion of this market has resulted in the testing of products for future distribution in Latin America.
