Obviously, murder, rape or abuse are things that should not be found in any context, but then there are decisions made that see gray lines. Some decisions are controversial and
others are clearly equated with good or bad conduct. Today, stories of unethical conduct abound from well known people having affairs to people stealing or murdering. Yet, two recent
events that made headlines have evoked extreme emotional reactions in people. One is the story of a mother who gave birth to octuplets and the other is the landing of
Flight 1549 on the Hudson River. The first story mentioned, which is actually a more recent event, follows the life of a woman who gave birth to eight babies. Multiple
births are quite controversial in general. Some question the validity of allowing women to have so many fertilized eggs implanted and in fact, many physicians see this as an ethical
quandary. Of course, the process is expensive, but getting the most efficient use of the eggs is beside the point. The eggs will grow into babies and their lives are
the ones that are at risk. Some claim that there should be legal boundaries for physicians so that they will not be allowed to implant more than two or three
eggs for example. In the story making headlines, the mother is single and lives with her own mother who helps tend to her other six children. Suleman has raised those
children without the benefit of a father. Nadya Suleman says that she is not being selfish, but she also admits that she realizes there is risk involved in a multiple
