a more powerful understanding of one another in a time when blacks were not generally allowed in white schools. As such most people watching the film may only see that
the story involves blacks and whites. But, there are other cultures as well. The following paper examines the various cultures in the film "Remember the Titans." Cultures
in "Remember the Titans" As mentioned, this film is clearly one about the black and white culture of the time period. In this film we have a black coach being
assigned to a high school that is all white. At the same time the school is forced to accept black students as well. This causes a great deal of friction
in the two cultures. Yet, within each culture we see different sorts of attitudes. Both the white and the black coach are fathers and are men that have integrity. They
will do what is told of them in the school, and although they may have bitter attitudes about one thing or another, they are generally very noble men, regardless of
their race. The students also display different perspectives of this particular culture. Some are immersed in a sort of red-neck prejudiced attitude while others are simply angry without really knowing
why. There is one black student who is very bitter and much of that bitterness is because of oppression of his race. For the most part the whites are prejudiced
because they were taught to think blacks were inferior. Another culture, and a very important one that essentially brings them all together, is the culture of football. This is
the one force that they can all understand. They believe, deep within, that a team must work together to become strong. They do not wish to be beat by another
