Essay / Research Paper Abstract
7 pages in length. Being an agnostic living in a very religious community only adds to the overall level of intolerance that permeates from this very close-minded small town. While I have the same skin color as every other resident, I am treated with covert disdain in many communications with locals and leaders, much of which has to do with the overriding attitude that anyone who is not part of the pious inner sanctum is forever an outsider. The same applies to those who not only come from a different race but also those who associate with racial minorities. This righteous, all-white community has a long history of isolating those its residents are conditioned to believe are less worthy than they are, yet this particular religious sect has proven to be extremely hypocritical in the mantra "do as I say, not as I do." As such, the community is divided into "us" and "them" with few instances of the two factions coming together. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

does not even hold any benefit when I am judged not only by the minority friends I have but also because of how I openly demonstrate my tolerance for racial
diversity. Influences of race in this community is clearly evident by the fact that there is only one black person confident enough to live in a town overrun by religious
zealots with little tolerance for anyone who is not of their ilk. Native Americans are more abundant in this community due to proximity of the expansive Navajo Nation and
the need to seek employment within other local communities. While arms are by no means flung open in a warm embrace for this ethnic group, the Native Americans are
better accepted than any other race that may choose to reside here. Indeed, there is no presence of multiculturalism in this community, and it is exactly the way the long-term
