a waste of time. Many people were urged to enter into a particular field of study and remain there, learning all they can about that particular subject. But, it has recently come to light that ignoring a liberal arts perspective has led many to be inept at doing the simplest of tasks. People who have majored in one area, focusin all learning attention in that area, are proving they lack the skills to communicate well, write adequately, interact with other cultures in a positive manner, and essentially proving they lack a great deal of intelligence and common sense. The following paper examines Roger E. Hermans article "Liberal Arts: The Key to the Future," critiquing it and discussing its relevancy. Critique: Liberal Arts This particular article presents the reader with a supposed look at the future of lberal arts and the important role it will take in the future of all educated people. The student requesting this essay asks for the silent points made by the author. There are very subtle points, and points that present us with further elaboration here and there in the article, but the author essentially voices all the points in words. One particular point that could be seen as being silent is that which addresses the failure of the present day education system, or how many people seek a specialized education and miss out on too much of the necessary skill learning.
